Draft privacy policy
Yondi Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Yondi collects, uses, and protects information for getyondi.com and the Yondi family check-in app. This draft is provided for early product and App Store preparation and should be reviewed by the owner and legal counsel before final publication.
What Yondi is
Yondi is a privacy-first family check-in app. It helps trusted people request and respond to simple check-ins without continuous location tracking, live maps, on-demand location, or background surveillance. Yondi does not guarantee safety, ensure that a person will respond, provide emergency monitoring, or replace calling emergency services.
Information we collect
Yondi may collect and store the following information to provide the check-in service:
- Phone numbers used for account creation, login, and SMS one-time passcodes.
- Display names shown to trusted people in the app.
- Relationships between watcher users and checked-on users.
- Check-ins, responses, response times, late responses, and closed-window status.
- Safety rules, response windows, daily limits, snooze settings, and account status.
- Device push tokens used to send check-in and response notifications.
How we use information
Yondi uses information to:
- Create and manage accounts.
- Send SMS one-time passcodes for login.
- Send push notifications for check-in requests, responses, and closed windows.
- Show check-in history and relationship status to the right people.
- Apply safety rules, snooze settings, response windows, and daily limits.
- Maintain, secure, debug, and improve the service.
SMS and push notification providers
Yondi uses Twilio to send SMS one-time passcodes. Your phone number may be processed by Twilio for that purpose. Yondi also stores device push tokens so it can send app notifications related to check-ins and responses.
Location
Yondi currently does not use continuous location tracking and currently does not collect location history. The current product is based on check-in requests, responses, response windows, and safety rules.
If location functionality is added in the future, Yondi intends for it to be consent-based and privacy-forward. Any future location feature should be carefully scoped, clearly explained, and designed around rules pre-approved by the checked-on person.
What we do not do
- Yondi does not sell user data.
- Yondi does not use user data for third-party advertising or tracking.
- Yondi does not use cookies or analytics on getyondi.com.
- Yondi is not affiliated with Life360.
Data sharing
Yondi shares information only as needed to operate the service, comply with legal obligations, protect rights and safety, or with your direction. For example, Yondi may share phone numbers with Twilio to deliver SMS passcodes and may use platform push notification services to deliver notifications.
Account deletion
Users can delete their Yondi account. Account deletion is intended to remove or disable account information according to the product’s account deletion flow, subject to limited retention where required for security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or service integrity.
Data security
Yondi is designed to handle family check-in information with care. No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is perfectly secure, but Yondi aims to use reasonable safeguards appropriate for the type of information it processes.
Children and families
Yondi is intended for family check-ins among trusted people. If the service is used by or for a minor, a parent or guardian should review the service and decide whether it is appropriate for their family.
Changes to this policy
Yondi may update this Privacy Policy as the product develops. When changes are made, the updated policy will be posted at getyondi.com/privacy with a new “Last updated” date.
